Roycroft Film Society to screen ‘Truman’

The Roycroft Film Society will show the 2015 Spanish Argentinian dramedy “Truman” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Parkdale auditorium, 141 Girard Ave., East Aurora.

The film, directed by Cesc Gay, begins when theater actor Julian receives an unexpected visit from his childhood friend Tomas, whom he has not seen in several years. Julian reveals that his health is failing and that he has chosen to forgo treatment. As Julian talks about putting his affairs in order, he asks Tomas to take care of his beloved dog, Truman. The conversation sparks a four-day discussion in which the two men walk the streets of Madrid discussing their lives and what the future holds.

A film discussion will take place following the movie.

Tickets are $6 for Film Society members and $8 for nonmembers. Memberships can be purchased the day of the event.
