Photo by Rick Kintzel The East Aurora board of trustees approved the use of the football field at Hamlin Park for use by the East Aurora Little Loop league, on the condition that the music remains at a reasonable volume. The decision comes after past complaints about the music coming from the park during the football games.

In a long-awaited matter, the East Aurora School Board passed the proposed partial payment plan of school taxes by a vote of eight to zero. The program will begin this year and will remain on a trial basis for the next three years.

Diane Sieminski has been appointed to the position of Wales Primary School principal by the Iroquois Board of Education. Sieminski previously worked in the Hamburg School District as an elementary teacher and served as the coordinator of the Elementary Science Program.

During the Erie County Fair Standard Flower show, Joan Kucio won two first-place awards and the Western Fair Association contest. Elaine DiPietro won a first-place and Bonnie Groh won a second-place award. Maureen and Laurie Daley won honorable mention. In the junior division, Leo and Michael Chavez won honorable mention.

An unknown person attempted to cut a lock off a vacuum cleaner at a Grey Street car wash in an attempt to remove money.
