Photo by Jim Rusac Elma residents spoke out against a proposed bypass, which would run from Broadway near Bowen Road in Lancaster to the Transit/Southwestern intersection on the West Seneca/Elma/Orchard Park border. The plan is part of an effort by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Committee to relieve some of the traffic flow along Transit Road, Broadway, William Street and Losson Road in Cheektowaga, Lancaster and Elma.

The East Aurora Union Free School District will be improving accessibility for the disabled in all buildings. The improvements are hoped to provide access to disabled students, staff, parents and visitors. At Parkdale Elementary, an elevator will provide access for the disabled to the second floor. An elevator will also be installed at the middle school.

After two years of waiting and hoping for a water extension, residents in Water District No. 10 will have to wait a little longer. The Erie County Water Authority recently announced that water will not be made available for that district, which consists of Luther, Snyder and Metro roads in West Falls.

An unknown person reportedly drilled holes in the water tanks of four toilets located in the ladies restroom at Harrigan Circle area of Emery Park. The perpetrators apparently used a cordless drill.

Tri-Town (Elma, Marilla, Wales) recently came in first place in Division “A” at the Erie County Track Meet at the University at Buffalo North Campus.
