Thanks to all for book sale success

The annual used book sale sponsored by the Friends of the Aurora Town Public Library was a huge success and is an indicator of how vital the library is to our community. The Friends must thank some special people without whom there would be no book sale.

First, many thanks to the members of the First Presbyterian Church for their gracious hospitality in allowing the Friends to occupy their dining room for most of the month of June. Many thanks to the Boy Scouts and leaders of Troop 513 — who moved a mountain of books from the storage facility to the church — and to the Boy Scouts and leaders of Troop 599, who moved the leftover books.

Thanks to Dave Gunner and the highway department crew who moved and set up tables at the church. Many thanks to the Benderson Corporation, who provided rent-free storage space to store books. With room to store books, the Friends are able to accept book donations all year.

Thanks to Tom Petrie and Tops Market for donating hundreds of bags for the bag sale.

Finally, thanks to a very dedicated group of volunteers who love their library and put in numerous hours preparing for the book sale.

All proceeds from the sale and memberships are used to fund the many library programs for children and adults. Last year, the Friends funded 29 programs for children and 10 programs for adults.

Check out the library schedule and sign up for some amazing programs.
