Children need help, not humiliation

I’d like to express my disappointment in the recent publication of a police blotter entry on June 12 involving a juvenile at a local parochial school.

What message are we sending to our youth by publishing this? A troubled youth needs support and direction. They need not be exploited in local police blotters. Did they even commit a crime? Regardless of whether there was police involvement this is not police blotter material.

In my opinion, this is no one’s business other than the individuals involved. Our youth, troubled or not, deserve better than this.

We need to help them with their struggles, not make them a public spectacle.
