Photo by John Rusac At last week’s Elma Town Board meeting, Supervisor John DiJoseph revealed that approximately 1,100 petitions had been received in opposition to the proposed Lancaster Stone Products project. The project consists of a plan to build a manufacturing and distribution center at East Bullis and New Blossom roads.

Iroquois Central School teacher Gayle Radder and her fourth-grade class met with newly elected Congressman Jack Quinn last week as he toured the school in conjunction with the Congressional Awareness Program, designed to educate children between grades 4 and 12 about Congress.

Kathryn and John McClure finally had the wedding of their dreams this past weekend — after being married for 13 years. The couple, who were forced to have a small ceremony after a car accident in 1980, renewed their vows at Elma United Methodist Church and held a reception at Samuel’s Grande Manor in Clarence.

A student assault resulted in a broken nose and numerous contusions and abrasions at Wallace Ormsby Center. The victim was attacked after allegedly making lewd comments to a subject about the work he was doing. The subject was suspended for the remainder of the week.

David Johnston of Castle Hill Road was the recipient of the Association of Educators in Radiologic Technology of NYS Award, which was presented at the college’s recent Honors Convocation at Trocaire College.
