Big Red Basketball registration underway

Registration is currently under way for the 11th annual Big Red Basketball Club training sessions and team formation.

The Big Red Basketball Club offers a more advanced level of basketball training for boys and girls in fourth through ninth grades. It is designed to help players become smart, effective high school players in the future. There is no residency requirement to take part in the program.

The program is run by Todd Banaszak, who has 25 years of high school basketball coaching experience, including 15 at the varsity level coaching the boys team at Clarence High School. Current Lancaster girls varsity coach Jayson Jaskier and current Clarence JV boys coach Matt Lauer will be running the program along with Banaszak.

Upon signing up, players will receive eight basketball training sessions and a free evaluation at Cutting Edge Sports Training Facility in Clarence. The basketball training will be held throughout January and February at Sweet Home High School in Amherst.

Tournament teams will be formed at the conclusion of the eight basketball training sessions. Tournaments will be played locally or regionally from March through June, depending on availability.

Basketball training sessions will be skill- and knowledge-driven, with tournament games being the culminating activity in the spring.
