Kudos for support of Knox Talks

The Friends of Knox Farm State Park would like to thank all those who attended and supported our recent Knox Talks. Our objective in organizing the talks was to provide the community an opportunity to offer suggestions for the use of the park in a fashion that will address the fiscal needs of the park now and into the future, while maintaining its unique nature and history.

We were so pleased with the response. More than 100 people attended the discussions.

They brought with them a variety of ideas and a willingness to continue the conversation in the future. At present, we have 84 ideas that cover a wide variety of activities and initiatives for consideration.

Once we have analyzed the community’s input, we intend to schedule a meeting with representatives of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to discuss the feasibility of the various suggestions and to determine next steps. We will be sharing on our Facebook page and our website, www.friendsofknoxfarm.com, not only the suggestions received, but also our progress in working with NYS Parks to achieve our mutual goals to responsibly operate and preserve the park.

Again, we extend a big thank you to all those who attended the meetings and contributed to this very important process.

We would also like to extend our thanks to The Roycroft

Inn, in particular Martha Augat and Andrea Ball, who graciously hosted the talks and provided our guests with a lovely setting and refreshments.
