Immanuel Quilters plans meetings

Immanuel Quilters will meet at 9 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 43 Pine St., East Aurora. The group is dedicated to making quilts for those in need. For more information on the group, call 652-4240 or visit www.im manueleastaurora.com.

Barroom Buzzards to play potluck

The church of Annunciation will hold a Mardi Gras potluck dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at 7580 Clinton St., Elma. The Barroom Buzzards will provide live music, and guests are asked to bring a dish to pass and their own adult beverage. Admission is $5.

Sledding event slated at Elma Meadows

A family sledding day will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at Elma Meadows Park, 1711 Girdle Road. In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Feb. 25.

‘World’s Largest Fish Fry’ scheduled

The East Aurora Kiwanis Club will hold its annual “World’s Largest Fish Fry” from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Parkdale Elementary School, 141 Girard Ave., East Aurora. Dinners will cost $10 and will be available for takeout and dine-in.

Guest speaker to discuss gardens

The East Aurora Garden Club will hold a meeting at noon Monday, Feb. 12, at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, Main and Maple streets, East Aurora. Jacqueline Swift will host a lecture on colonial heirloom gardens. For more information, call Val at 980-3202.

MUSEjar to hold art camp for kids

Children 8 years and older are invited to learn to make woodland animal masks. The three-day camp will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, through Thursday, Feb. 22, at MUSEjar, 17 Elma St., East Aurora. The cost is $60. For tickets, visit www.musejar.com.

Women’s Club to host book exchange

The Aurora Women’s Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Town of Aurora Senior Citizen Center, 101 King St., East Aurora. Guests are asked to bring books for the annual book exchange. Books that are not exchanged will be donated to Operation Paperback, which provides books to military personnel, veterans and military families. For information, call Joyce at 652-7692.

Elma CERT offering free training program

The Elma Community Emergency Response Team program will hold a free CERT training program from 6 to 9:30 p.m. every Monday and Thursday in March except for Thursday, March 29. Participants will learn the basics of disaster preparedness including medical training and fire safety. Registration is required and must be done by Friday, Feb. 23.
