Man accused of BAC twice the legal limit

Buczek Buczek A West Seneca man is facing charges after Erie County sheriff’s deputies say he was driving with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit.

Joseph Buczek, 68, was stopped on Transit Road in Elma after a deputy said he saw Buczek’s vehicle cross the center line of the road.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy said he pulled over the vehicle and could smell alcohol when he approached the car.

Buczek was unsteady on his feet, and at one point, had to grab onto the deputy to maintain his balance, the release said.

The deputy later determined Buczek had a blood alcohol level of 0.17 percent, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested and taken to the office’s Elma station, where he was later released.

Deputies say Buczek will answer to DWI charges when he appears in court at a later date.
