Assemblyman receives threatening message

A local leader was on the receiving end of what East Aurora police are calling a threatening phone message.

A staff member of Assemblyman David DiPietro contacted police on July 5 after hearing the message. Police say the message was of rapid gunfire, and no one spoke.

The staff member who reported the incident also contacted the New York State Assembly Office, according to police. The staffer wanted to have the call documented due to the political environment in the state and across the county.

Police say there are no suspects at this time.

DiPietro did not want to comment on the incident.
