Absolut Care hosting exercise classes
The Arthritis Foundation will present free ongoing arthritis exercise classes from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mondays in February in the Hamlin Residence Activity Room at Absolut Care of Aurora Park, 292 Main St. People may join in at any time. Call 652-1560 to register.
St. Paul’s Lutheran sets healing service
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 53 West Falls Road, will host “Shine the Light on Cancer” on Saturday, Feb. 4. Two services will be held, at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. From 7 to 10 p.m., the church will have a candlelight vigil of prayer and remembrance. People are asked to bring luminarias made from used glass jars for each person affected by cancer, to either pray for or remember. St. Vincent de Paul to present Vegas Night
St. Vincent de Paul School, 6441 Seneca St., will hold “Vegas Night” from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4. Tickets, which are $20 presale and $25 at the door, include $5 in gaming chips, beer, wine, snacks, coffee, desserts and a chance to win four Buffalo Sabres tickets. There will also be music, 50/50 drawings and a Chinese auction. Attendees must be 21 or older. For tickets or more information, call 652-8697.
St. Gabriel’s Ladies Guild to hold meat raffle
St. Gabriel’s Ladies Guild is sponsoring a meat raffle from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, in the Parish Hall, 5271 Clinton St. Admission is $5. Twenty-five raffle tickets cost $10. For more information, call the church at 668-4017.
Salut event to benefit Shakespeare in Park
Salut Wine and Spirits, 658 Main St. in East Aurora, will host a free wine-tasting event that also includes cheese from Nickel City Cheese and Mercantile as well as fresh breads from Elm Street Bakery. It will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17. Twenty percent of the event’s sales will be donated to Shakespeare in the Park. For more information, call Lisa Ludwig at 856-4533.
Legion Post to host steak roast
The East Aurora American Legion Post will present a steak roast from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the post, 1 Legion Drive off Center Street. Desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available. Jamison Road Fire Co. to hold fish fry
The Jamison Road Volunteer Fire Co. will hold an Ash Wednesday fish fry at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the fire hall, 1071 Jamison Road. The cost is $10 each, and takeout will be available.
