Man fails in escape attempt

Wednesday, Jan. 18
A Ridge Avenue woman complained of receiving harassing phone calls and messages from her sister in regard to their father being hospitalized. She did not want to press charges but wanted her sister to cease contact. After being advised by patrol, the sister agreed to such.
Thursday, Jan. 19
An Ostrander Road man attempted to escape from police custody as he was being escorted from the courtroom to the station for processing. Although he eluded police at first, they later received a tip that he was to be dropped off at a Hamburg gas station. The man ran toward an apartment complex before finally being captured while hiding in a storage space within the building.
Friday, Jan. 20
A Boston man was being followed by a K-9 police vehicle when he stopped on Linden Avenue and backed into the police car, causing front bumper damage. He was issued tickets for unsafe backing and no proof of insurance.
Saturday, Jan. 21
A Center Street woman reported the theft of two checks from her checkbook. She discovered the theft when she received an overdraft notice in the mail from her bank. Police interviewed two people, including the woman’s granddaughter, and both denied any involvement. One check was written out to a Lakeview man for $100. Patrol attempted to contact him but have so far been unsuccessful.
Sunday, Jan. 22
Police arrested a Hamburg man on an outstanding bench warrant from West Seneca after receiving a report of a disturbance on Ernst Place.

Friday, Jan. 13
A Bullis Road caller reported a car stuck on her lawn. It required towing, and the woman requested driver information in the case of any damage to her lawn.
Patrol investigated an accident involving a car sliding off the Maple Road offramp on Route 400 and into the guardrail. The driver was taken to South Buffalo Mercy Hospital with a reported chest injury.
Someone reportedly hit a mail truck on Clinton Street. The truck had stopped to make a delivery when it was rear-ended by another vehicle. The passenger vehicle was towed as a precaution.
Patrol investigated a burglary report on East Jerge Drive. The window on the back door had been broken toward the inside. Detectives are continuing the investigation.
Sunday, Jan. 15
Deputies arrested a Buffalo man for driving while intoxicated after receiving a report of a vehicle off the roadway on Bowen and Jamison roads.
Monday, Jan. 16
A Bullis Road man stated that his car was broken into while in his driveway. A total of three unlocked vehicles were found to have been gone through overnight, and $30 in cash was missing. A report was taken.
Another larceny was reported on Bullis Road. Items were taken from two vehicles, including $60 in cash, Tim Hortons gift cards and a bag of coins.
Tuesday, Jan. 17
A man reported being confronted by two black males at a Seneca Street sports park and forced to give them money. The incident is under investigation.
Wednesday, Jan. 18
Patrol investigated a burglary report on North Blossom Road. There were no signs of forced entry, and the investigation is ongoing based on information provided by the complainant.
