The Aurora Senior Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day. It will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Wednesday, Sept. 8 WORKOUT HOURS: 8 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. EXERCISE CLASS: 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. CHINA PAINTING: 9 a.m. - noon. COMPUTER CLASS: Sign up in the office. SCRABBLE: 9:30 a.m. - noon. DUPLICATE BRIDGE: 9:30 a.m. - noon. YOGA: 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. In the fitness room BOWLING: 1 - 3 p.m. Victoria Lanes ARTISTIC PAINTING: 1 p.m. PAINTING: 1 - 3 p.m.

DAILY LUNCH PROGRAM: Noon weekdays (except holidays). Suggested donation is $2.50 per meal. The program is sponsored by the Erie County Department of Senior Services and in cooperation with various community agencies. Seniors 60 and older and their spouses can enjoy a hot meal and companionship every weekday at noon. Call 652-7934 to reserve a space one week in advance or in person when you’re at the Senior Center. The program is funded by the Administration on Aging; the Department of Health, Education and Welfare; the New York State Office for the Aging; and Erie County.

GOING PLACES VAN: (Weekdays) 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The van will take Town of Aurora residents 62 years and older. All requests received will be evaluated with a priority on medical and health-related trips. The suggested donation per trip is $2 per person; however, contributions are confidential. In an effort to maintain a clean and neat ride for all passengers, there is no smoking or eating allowed in the van. And for safety reasons, everyone must wear a seatbelt. To make a reservation, call 652-8866 at least 48 hours in advance. *The Rural Transit Van is also available by calling 652-2527.
