Army 1st Lt. Erin Hanley figured during her freshman year at the U.S. Military Academy that she would eventually be headed to Iraq. For her, the anticipation and the unknown were at the forefront of her thoughts.

“I knew from that point that I’d be going over there,” she recalled. “It was a lot of anticipation. I didn’t really know what to expect.”

According to Sen. Charles Schumer, the William Street Processing Center will remain open for at least three years.

If veterans in the Town of Aurora didn’t already have the official support from the Aurora Town Board in their quest to see a national veterans cemetery placed in Knox Farm State Park, they do now.
